Cruise to Santa Cruz

Calling all Bay Area Oppos! This saturday there is an open invite to cruise to Santa Cruz and just enjoy a day of driving and the boardwalk. Those traveling from the Sacramento area will be taking this route down.

my personal route is going to be a bit different as I will be making a huge loop around the bay going up scenic highway 1 on my way back up to Fairfield.

The plan is to have a meet up at noon in the parking lot of the beach boardwalk, meet everyone and ether drive or enjoy the beach. I will be driving my "lil' bastard" E28 535i with my wife. We don't have an oppo sticker on the car but that should be ok as we will be noticeable.

the goal is to meet at santa cruz at noon. if anyone wants to meet in fairfield and convoy down I will be taking off from the "dutch brothers" located at 1420 W. Texas St. in Fairfield at 9:30

I'm too broke to afford the gas to get down there and I have finals next week. Even though I'd love an excuse to go out and stretch Cookies legs, it just is a bad idea for me to spend a day getting sun burnt with the top down. Have a grand meet up. Hopefully I can make the next one.

Thats too bad. Can't car pool with someone pitching in for fuel? If not, no worries. I will let all of oppo know the next time we drive.

I don't think there are any Opponauts up in the Chico area. But I do have finals next week so this week and weekend = study time and no fun. Next drive I'll hopefully be able to make as I do understand there are some pretty fantastic driving roads I have yet to discover up in the Northern part of California. I'm still a relatively new transplant from SoCal so I gots lots of exploring left to do. I want to get out to the coastal redwoods at some point this summer.

sounds like it's build time! haha, well, I'll see what goes down this Saturday but I think it'd be fun; dunno if I bring the bike but if anyone's planning a pit stop off 880/280 just before it turns into 17, that's where I'll be getting on - iirc it's 45m from there to Santa Cruz

Aw man, the UC Santa Cruz auto club is having a drive from the college to Alice's Restaurant on the same day, starting at 10 am. If I have access to my car this weekend and if I have enough time for activities, I'll probably go with them... but if by some miracle I can squeeze it in I'd love drop by.

At least take a lap through the college and I can look for you! Haha

How's the turnout looking?

I'd like to join your convoy if there's a rest stop you might hit in the south bay (Hwy 17 @ Hamilton looks like an easy on/off)

I don't know how to dm my # to text up the group, but if there's a way, lemme know!

*edit* Starbucks @ 330 E Hamilton Ave Campbell, CA 95008 proposed pit stop for any south bay people wanting to join up

Well from there it's a 35-45min drive down 17 - I figure 11am is a plenty safe bet to leave that Starbucks - What's our meeting spot in Santa Cruz?
